Ompodi Vadam is made from fine besan (chickpea flour) batter pressed through a thin-holed die to create delicate, threadlike noodle-shaped vadams that fry into a light, golden tangle of crunch.
Unlike rice-based vadams, Ompodi Vadam has a distinctly chickpea character — slightly nutty, very light, with a crunch that is airier than Mullu Murukku and more delicate than a flat vadam. It is the vadam that disappears fastest from the tray.
Ours is sun-dried in small batches, made from clean besan without any artificial thickeners or whiteners, and fried fresh before packing.

How to Prepare It
Deep fry in hot oil until pale golden — it fries very quickly, in 8–12 seconds. Drain on paper and serve immediately. Best eaten fresh. Also works well crumbled over curd rice as a textural element.
